Ayne Amjad is a physician, graduate of West Virginia University and Marshall University, and the Republican candidate for the May 8th primary election in West Virginia's 3rd Congressional District, located in Southern West Virginia. Dr. Amjad's priorities include a whole community approach to fight the opioid crisis, improving healthcare outcomes, reducing the costs of prescription medications, creating stronger job opportunities, and revamping school-to-work programs.
For the past seven years, Dr. Amjad has been serving patients in Beckley and Princeton. She is also the Stroke Director at Health South Southern Hills in Princeton and mentors medical students.
Dr. Amjad resides in Beckley, Raleigh County, where she was born and raised. She attended Greater Beckley Christian School and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School. She earned her biochemistry degree from Virginia Tech, Masters in Public Health from West Virginia University, and Medical Degree from Marshall University.
